SteelMart is more than a steel supplier and processor. We’re a proud member of the communities we serve, and giving back is an essential part of who we are. We partner with various organizations to support causes we care deeply about, making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Our current efforts focus on the areas of education, mental health, youth development, and animal welfare.
Our Commitment to Education and Mental Well-Being
The Satisky Family Mental Health and Performance Center at UGA Athletics
University students, particularly student athletes, have faced increased mental health challenges since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. In 2022, University of Georgia (UGA) Athletics approached SteelMart principal and UGA alum Brian Satisky and his wife Shelly to help provide student athletes with the vital support they need.
The Satisky Family Mental Health and Performance Center offers resources and programs to help athletes participating in all UGA sports cope with pressure, anxiety, and other mental health concerns, promoting their overall well-being and performance.
The Satisky Family Mental Health and Performance Center is already making a significant difference. By providing crucial mental health resources, we are helping student athletes navigate challenges, achieve their full potential, and become well-rounded individuals.

Need-Based Satisky Family Scholarships at UGA
Education is the cornerstone of a thriving community. Each year the Satisky family funds scholarships to help two deserving students pursue their academic dreams without financial constraints and concerns.
Terry College of Business Gala Sponsor
SteelMart and the Satisky family are proud sponsors of the Terry College of Business at UGA’s annual gala. The funds raised at this event support critical programs and scholarships that benefit future business leaders.
Our Commitment to Youth Development
Boy Scouts of America (BSA)
Following 12 years of involvement in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) with his son, an Eagle Scout, SteelMart and principal Paul Carling continue to support BSA through donations and volunteer work.
One notable SteelMart donation funded a troop trailer for a small troop that did not have the funds for the purchase. The troop is now able to store gear and better prepare for trips.

Our Commitment to Animal Welfare
FurKids Animal Rescue and Shelter
The mission of FurKids is to rescue homeless animals and provide them with the best medical care and nurturing environment while working to find them a forever home.
Paul’s family has been volunteering with FurKids since 2013. They have participated in various tasks, including cleaning, laundry, organizing supplies, and walking dogs. When FurKids purchased a property in Forsyth County to increase shelter space for cats and dogs, Paul’s family helped turn the overgrown land into the state-of-the-art facility it is today.
